Lori Whitlock: Pop Up Kitty Card

Hi Everyone! Today I'm showcasing one of Lori Whitlock's new Pop Up Card Cat (SVG, Silhouette) !  Being a crazy cat lady, this card was right up my alley!! This card is super easy to assemble (see the video tutorial here)  I decided to customize it for my friend Jenn who has a sassy black and white kitty named Mr. Harley.

To add the black patches, I cut the face, tail and body of the cat from both black and white cardstock.  I then cut the black cardstock to reflect Mr. Harley's coloring and gave him a bow-tie as well.  To finish, I cut some decorative panels for the inside of the card from some Doodlebug Design's So Punny papers.( they are sized 3.875" x 5.125").  There's also a dog version of this card (SVG, Silhouette) ... you could customize for your "dog mom" friends! Here is a picture of the real Mr. Harley... you can follow his antics on Instagram here!

I can't wait to send it to my friend!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

Doodlebug Cut Files: Baby Frame

Hi Everyone!  Lucky us, we have a new grand-niece in the family  (I always knew I was a great aunt, now it's just official, lol !)  I just LOVE babies and couldn't resist making her a little something... take a peek...

I started out with some Sugar and Spice Collection from Doodlebug Design.  It's one of my favorites, and I've been hoarding it for a while now!   I also added in some papers from Doodlebug's Snips & Snails and  Gingham Linen Petite Prints collections.  The bear cut file is the Teddy Bear from the Doodlebug Sugar and Spice Cut files available here in the Lori Whitlock SVG Shop and here in Silhouette.  The balloon is from the Doodlebug Dragon Tails Cut files here in the Lori Whitlock SVG Shop and here in Silhouette.  I used Lori Whitlock's Bubble Letter Font for the lettering.  My niece loved it!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

Doodlebug Design: So Punny Cards

Hi Everyone! Today I have some fun cards featuring the new So Punny Collection from Doodlebug Design!  It's no secret, I love a good pun and this collection does not disappoint!  The Chit Chat Pieces and Odds & Ends make putting together cards so quick and easy!  Take a peek...

For my first card, I made a shadow box type card by layering different sized frames, with pop dots between the layers for dimensions.  I added the little tomatoes from the Odds & Ends and the speech bubble from the Chit Chat Pieces.  To finish, I added one of the Tiny Heart Sprinkles and done!

For my next card, I started with this card base cut with my Silhouette.  For the center I attached 2 of the soda can Odds & Ends back to back over a piece of Doodle Twine so that they floated in the middle.  Then I just added the "soda-lightful" saying from the Chit Chat pieces and done!

Finally for my last card, I used a center box card base to showcase the adorable sewing machine and thread Odds & Ends Pieces.  The speech bubble and the Just Because Banner are from the Chit Chat Pieces.

I really love how this collection is great for both everyday and Valentine's themed projects!  I've listed the products used for each card below.  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

Doodlebug Design: Cream & Sugar Cards

Hi Everyone!  Today I have some fun cards I created using the fabulous Doodlebug Design Cream & Sugar Collection!  I have to say that this is one of my all time favorite collections.  The little coffee cups, the sugar cubes, the sweet treats... all just too cute!  Take a peek...

For my first card, I used the coffee cups from the Odds & Ends Package and the cute "punny" sentiment from the Cake Sprinkles Double Sided Cardstock .  The card base is from this cut file that I altered to fit my needs.  I like this card because it can be used for Valentine's Day or you could send it "just because."

My next card is a shaker card.  I just love shaker cards!!!  I started by cutting a heart shape in my base, then filling the shaker with some Doodlebug sequins and some X's and O's I cut out using my Silhouette.  The sweet candy hugs and kisses from the Odds & Ends pack and the Hugs & Kisses sentiment from the Cake Sprinkles Double Sided Cardstock topped it all off!

My last card I think is my favorite.  I love puns.  I use them liberally.  It makes my daughter roll here eyes.  So when this idea popped into my head, I couldn't resist.  I used the donut and the coffee cup from the Odds & Ends, and added some speech bubbles I made using the Booville Bubble Sayings cut file, and finished it with the Happy Valentine's Day sticker from the This & That Sticker Sheet.  The easel card base was made using this cut file.

I can't wait to send these out!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

Hi Everyone!   It's time for the January Creative Team Blog Hop over at Lori Whitlock!  You should have arrived here from Traci's Blog.  Here's the order for today's hop!

For my project I created some Valentine's Day themed Hand Sanitizer Holders!  Because Valentine's Day is smack in the middle of cold & flu season!  I know many teachers who would love one of these!

I started with the base of the Hand Sanitizer Holder Snowflake .(in Silhouette Store)  Instead of the snowflake, I re-sized and cut both the 3 Succulents File (in Silhouette Store)  and the typewriter from the A2 X-Card Typewriter (in Silhouette Store) file and added them to the front of the holder.  I created the little "punny" tags using the Tag Dingbats Font (b)(in Silhouette Store)  and Lori's Perfect Type Font..(in Silhouette Store)  The papers are Gingham Linen Petite Prints from Doodlebug Design.

And now a few things for you!  First, Lori is having a 30% off Sale in her SVG Shop!  Just use code DEC2017 to get the discount!

Lori Whitlock: Snowman Gift Box Tutorial

Hi Everyone, and Happy New Year!  I don't know about where you are but we are covered with snow here in the Boston Area!  I'm not a fan of the cold, but I do love snowmen!  I decided to make my own little snowman gift box using Lori Whitlock's new Polygon Box - 8 Sides. (here in the Silhouette store) and some Gingham Linen Petite Prints from Doodlebug Design.

This little collection of boxes is the perfect way to package up a treat or small gifts!   It was really easy to put together.  I started by loading the box into Silhouette.  I then copied the box two more times to make up the 3 segments of the snowman's body.  I resized each box so that they were graduated in size.  The sizes I made them can be seen below.

I cut the boxes, and glued the decorative panels to each piece before I set to assembling them.

These boxes are very easy to assemble.  To start, I folded the score lines on the tabs and then along the side panel.  Then you simply glue each section of the side to it's corresponding tab to form the base.

To finish, just glue the remaining side section to both the tab on the side and the tab on the bottom piece.

The top and the bottom of the box are assembled in the same manner.  Once I had all three boxes assembled, I decided to make a hat for the snowman.  I sized the bottom half of the box as shown below and then made a "brim" for the hat by re-sizing one of the decorative cover panels.

The rest is as easy as building a snowman!  I stacked the boxes and added a face & buttons using enamel dots.  The scarf is a piece of ribbon glued to the sides of the cover on the middle box.  I used a removable glue dot to hold the pieces together.  And of course I had to add the cute little Doodlebug birdie, (SVG here in Lori's Shop) which is this week's free file in the Lori Whitlock SVG Shop!

And each box opens to reveal a treat inside!

That's it for me today,  thanks for stopping by to peek!
